CHRIST The Only Way

Jesus said no man knoweth the day nor the hour of His return. He also said that we may recognize the season.

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Luke 12:54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. 55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. 56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

Something as important as Jesus taking His bride away to heaven is such an enormous event that you would think He would make a worldwide stage of the happening. Yet He doesn't tell anyone when He is coming back, just to be ready for when it does happen. I have wondered why, and the scriptures give us a hint of why.

When Jesus ascended to heaven, He said He was going to prepare a place for us. He then disappeared into the clouds in the air. When Jesus calls for the church to come up here as He does to John the Revelator, the Church will be drawn through the clouds of the heavens to meet the Lord in the air.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we ever be with the lord.

The church rises to meet the Lord in the air. There is a problem with Christians passing through the air, considering Satan is the prince of the powers of the air. Would Satan interfere if he knew when the rapture would occur? He would probably try if he knew the timing of the event.

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

When the prophet Daniel prayed to God, his answer was held back by Satan in the heavens or the air by satanic forces.

Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

If a messenger from God could be held back 21 days, then I would imagine the church passing through the air would cause quite a scene with the demonic forces in the air.

This would probably anger Satan as he witnesses so many snatched up out of his hands, considering he is the god of this world and should not have his house disrupted. Is this what Jesus describes when He tells of the "goodman" of the house being robbed?

2 Corinthians 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Matthew 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

That may be why Jesus has kept the exact timing hidden from the world, so the church could pass through unharmed.

How does Jesus describe the moment of the rapture of His bride to Heaven?

Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Jesus describes His coming as lightning. People have always said it will be fast as the twinkling of the eye.

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Let's look at what happens with a lightning strike. Scientists have discovered that the air just below the clouds hold a negative energy. This would sound right considering satan is the prince of the power of the air. During a storm, the ground has a positive energy, and above the clouds there is another positive energy. When the ground feels the negative energy from above, a small feeder extends skyward to meet up with the negative energy in the air. When a lightning bolt comes through the clouds, the bolt links up with one of the small feeders that extend skyward, and the bolt is formed from the top clouds to the ground. The bolt is then sent skyward, and the energy is slammed to the earth in one fast powerful strike. The stroke that goes into the clouds is called the return stroke of lightning.

Job 37:3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

Revelation 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

The speed of lightning is so fast that it can go around the world seven times in one second.

Is this what Jesus meant when he said He will come as the lightning comes? Will the rapture be a worldwide lightning storm from God? That would definitely be a surprise to satan as the church is snatched through the grips of the powers in the air and our Lord escorts His Bride to the heavenly home.

Our job now is to discern the times and watch for the call of the bridegroom. Keep your oil full and do not get caught unprepared, because when the door is shut, there will be no entering the bridal chamber. Remember the five virgins that were not prepared and the five that were? They were all virgins. They had all done the requirements but were not ready to go when the call came. They were left behind, and the door was shut.

Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
