CHRIST The Only Way

History always has a way of repeating itself. Many times people will see something happening and remark that they feel this has happened at a prior time, like deja vu. The similarities between the death of Abraham Lincoln and President Kennedy are amazing when listed side by side. Another is the story of Rome and the United States.

What causes this parallel of events in the history of our world?

Evidently, what is causing these events to repeat themselves is the fact that it was ordained by God and told to us in His Holy Word.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.  V.10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

This repeat of history has happened over and over throughout time, but the most important repeat is the world itself at creation. When we read God's Word from the very beginning, we will begin to see what God has done. Let's see how far we can follow this repeat of creation and what we have in store for ourselves.

Time itself has begun and will end just as God has ordained.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God...

Revelation 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

When we read God's Word from the beginning, we can see what the plan of God has in mind for us. When we start at the end, we can see what will come to pass in the future because God has set the events in his Word, and it cannot be disputed.

God began with a new creation, and will end our time with a new creation.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

God had destroyed the earth after Satan had defiled it and had to be removed by force from heaven.

Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

When God creates a new earth and a new heaven in Revelation, we can see how Satan has defiled the earth once again and is removed from heaven.

Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

As we read forward in God's Word, we can see how God placed man in a perfect setting in the Garden of Eden. Man was able to dwell with the presence of God in the garden and commune with him daily.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. V.8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day:

Looking back from the end of time, we see that, once again, Jesus, our Lord, is dwelling with us in the city of Jerusalem on earth for a thousand years. We will be with Him and able to commune with God once more.

Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years... V.3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more... V.4...and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

During this thousand years spent with Christ, even nature will be as it was in the beginning.

Genesis 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. V.7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

As we advance in the progression of God's Word, we see the children of Adam fighting, and a mark is placed on the killer of Abel over religious quarrels.

Genesis 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:  V.5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

Genesis 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Genesis 4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

Looking back from the end, in Revelation, we can see the antichrist repeating the same history.

Revelation 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

As we look forward, we can see that after God's Word lists the genealogies of man, we see the last one listed as the seventh man, and he is taken away by God into heaven.

Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Looking backwards in God's Word from the mark of the antichrist, we find reference to the rapture of the saints.

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

We know that this event is still in our future; so let's look at how things led up to the event.

Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Genesis 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.  V.12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

God had Noah build an ark that would carry them out of the turmoil, and it was raised above the earth.

Genesis 7:17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

Just as Noah and the others in his family were lifted above the earth, the saints are to be lifted above the earth to meet Jesus in the air.

Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.

After God brings the flood to an end, He establishes a covenant promise with man.

Genesis 9:9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

Looking back from the rapture, we find God has made another promise for man to be with him.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.  V.21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

We see shortly after the world was repopulated that men inhabited the plains of Shinar, which is in the area of Saudi Arabia. The entire world spoke one language at that time and endeavored to gain power in defiance of God's orders that they inhabit the entire world.

Genesis 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

Man had constructed a set of towers of great height in New York City. The buildings were for the operation of much of the world's wealth. They stood as a power emblem to the world and was a storage of much gold and wealth. They were destroyed by men that traveled from Saudi Arabia. The language that was prevalent was English, just as it was one language in the days of the tower in Shinar.

Looking back in Revelation, we see Jesus mentioning the gold tried by fire. Is this where history has repeated itself with the tower of Babel?

Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see.

Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

If these two tower events are in any way a repeat of history, then we are standing on the threshold of the time when our Lord appears in the clouds to take His Church home.
