CHRIST The Only Way

IN THE BEGINNING, GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH

Who is God? God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. The holy trinity, all powerful, all knowing, in complete concert with one another. In complete control of events on earth and in heaven.

1. God the Father. God said, Let there be light. He gives the orders and has total command of all of the universe. Jesus called him "Father" and said, Your will be done as it is in heaven, so be on the earth.

2. God (Jesus Christ) is called Lord. In Revelation, He is Lord of Lords. When the scripture says that God gave a command and the Lord came down, this was Jesus in his Godly form. This was before he became a man. The gospel of John tells of the creation by Jesus.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. V.3 All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made. V.10 The world was made by him.

Every act of creation mentioned in God’s Word was done by the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am. V.15 The Lord God of your fathers...hath sent me unto you.

This was done by Jesus Christ and no other. There is no higher Lord in heaven or earth besides the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. He is called by many other names, King of Kings, Prince of Peace, Counsellor, Advocate.

3. The Holy Spirit is the third part of the God-head and is just as important as the other two but is still subject to the Father’s will. The Holy Spirit has manifested itself in many ways in the scriptures: as tongues of fire at Pentecost, as a pillar of fire to guide the Israelites in the wilderness, and many others.

As God began his creations, the first thing he started with seems to be "Light." This is not the light in Genesis that begins our creation, but way before man’s time, before the earth was created.

Psalm 104:2 Who coverest thyself with light as a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain.

The next act of creation was for God to build his Holy city, the New Jerusalem that John sees coming to earth.

Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.

Jesus also referred to this city here:

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions. Psalm 104:3 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind.

This must be some massive foundation considering that the city is 1500 miles high and 1500 miles long and 1500 miles wide, with 300 foot walls around the edges of the city. God’s throne is on the top, and there is housing for untold souls in the city -- many mansions.

The next thing God speaks of being created are the angels.

Psalm 104:4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire.

Nowhere does the Word say the angels have a fleshly body. They are, however, able to manifest themselves as a man.

Daniel 8:15 And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

The angels have many functions that they perform. They wait on God and hearken to his every wish or command. They announce God’s laws, convey God’s messages, protect God’s people, and even inflict Divine penalties.

God created two archangels, Gabriel and Michael. Gabriel is the angel that delivers the Divine messages from God to people on earth. When Mary received her news of Jesus being born to her, Gabriel delivered the message.

Luke 1:19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to show thee these glad tidings.

Daniel 9:21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. V.22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. V.23 At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to show thee; for thou art greatly beloved therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

Michael seems to be in charge of the protection or warfare in heaven.

Daniel 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

Revelation 12:7
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels.

Lucifer was another created angel of God. He was the most beautiful angel God ever created. God put Lucifer in charge of all of his creations. Lucifer was created a cherub angel. In a double reference to Lucifer, God spoke to the king of Tyre in:

Ezekiel 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. V.13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. V.14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. V.15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Lucifer was created perfect in beauty, in godly knowledge, and totally in charge of everything God had created. "Cherub that covereth" means in charge of all. Keep in mind that Lucifer, or Satan, is a created being. He is not omnipresent to be everywhere at all times as God is, nor is he all-knowing as God is. When Satan fell, he took one-third of the angels with him, and they are his eyes and ears to get information around the world. So Satan has many workers.

God is all-knowing; Satan is not. The only way Satan can know what a Christian or any person is thinking is when the person speaks it out loud. To illustrate this, look at Jesus.

John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath NOTHING IN ME.

Jesus told his disciples that he would not divulge any information about what would happen from then on. Because if the prince of darkness knew whom it was they were crucifying, Satan would not have allowed it. Satan had no idea that by crucifying Jesus he would loose his authority over death and hell.

Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have THE KEYS of hell and of death.

So Jesus warns us for today not to reveal secrets out loud so the workers of Satan can harm your plans. Jesus tells us to keep what we say under control.

Matthew 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

The apostle Paul tells us that we don’t fight against anything we can control.

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high PLACES.

So keep your mind on God and your mouth under control, and Satan will be less able to control your circumstances.

Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God.
This is the original garden that God created on the perfect earth before Satan had his fall. This was not the garden Adam and Eve were in.

Thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. The stones of fire can be none other than the Hell part of the earth.

Every stone was thy covering.
When the priest in the line of Levi did their service in the temple, they wore a chest covering made of these twelve stones as a way of communication with God. When the priest needed an answer from God, the answer would come through the stones. Ancient writings indicate that the Hebrew alphabet was on the stones, and God would illuminate the stones in a way to spell out the words of the answer. Satan has counterfeited this in the use of the Ouija boards of today. Kids are unknowingly trapped in this Satanic game and are exposed to Satan’s influence through the boards. During the time Satan was in true fellowship with God, he had this covering on his chest. He must have done some priestly duties when he was true to God before the fall.

After the angels were created, God created the earth.

Psalms 104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

In the early stages of the building of the earth, we see the angels with Lucifer in command, under the trinity God-head. Lucifer became jealous of God at some point in time. He was the most beautiful creation God had made, and his followers looked on him as God. He was determined to take the place of God the Father in heaven. Keep in mind, this is before the creation of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: V.14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

This was not allowed by God. Jesus is and was God at this time in the past, before our time began. Jesus said:

Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

God the Father must have been pretty mad about this intrusion by Lucifer, or Satan as his name was changed after the fall. As we look at some of the consequences of the fall of Satan, we see:

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Notice Satan’s fall weakened the nations. What nations? The creation of Adam has not begun yet.

Jeremiah 4:23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. V.24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. V.25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. V.26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger. V.27 For thus has the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. V.28 For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.

During the years that Lucifer was in charge of everything, we see that there was nations, birds, fruitful place or garden of God, cities, and a population of men that followed Satan to the fall. When Lucifer was in the Garden of Eden, he was in his exalted form.

Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God.

When he approached Eve in the garden, he came as a serpent. He was no longer the anointed cherub angel in charge with the jewels on his chest. He was not in God’s will. He came as a deceiver. This would indicate that there was an existing world here before our world was recreated. There was also an existing Garden of God before the Garden of Eden was created. This would also indicate that Satan had his fall before Adam and Eve came on the scene.

God refers to the angels being around before the recreation of the earth.

Job 38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. V.5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? V.6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; V.7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Morning stars are the stars God created in the universe before he laid out the measurements of the earth. The sons of God were the angels, because God had not made man yet.

This would explain the confusion between the creationists that say a young earth and the scientists that place the world millions of years old. If the earth had other civilizations of some kind here before, then that would be what Lucifer was in charge of in his exalted state. Scientists show proof of a man-creature skeleton that they say are very old, and they show dinosaurs and other forms of life that doesn’t exist anymore. All of these ages could have existed before God made the world that we know today. The Bible dates back 6,000 years, and scientists insist the world is millions of years old. Both can be right according to God’s Word.

Let’s take a look at the creation of our world.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

God created the world in perfect form.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Without form and void, "Tohu wa Bohu," Hebrew words that mean something under judgement of God and laid waste by God, of little importance (in vain). Something happened between Verse 1 and Verse 2 that changed a perfect world created by God to "Tohu wa Bohu," without form and void.

There is a space of time here between Verse 1 and Verse 2. That could span thousands of years. When God speaks, He speaks with the insight of knowing the beginning from the end. So there can be a span of time in the same verse or verses that covers many years and is separated by simply a comma. When God created the Heaven and the earth in the beginning, he also created all of the different ages that Lucifer stayed in charge of in his exalted form. Isaiah says that God never creates anything "void and without form."

Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

When God created the earth, it was perfect. When Lucifer had his fall, the earth was destroyed by the wrath of God.

Jeremiah 4:26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger. V.27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

Now we see:

Psalms 104:6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

This would explain where the waters came from in Genesis 1:2, And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Our Lord God destroyed the world of that period because of the fall of Satan. Just as God covered the earth with water in Noah’s day with the flood, he covered the earth with water to destroy the earth, and the Spirit of God moved over the waters.

An example of the gap of time spoken of in scripture between Verse 1 and Verse 2 was shown to us by Jesus when he read from Isaiah and stopped in the middle of the verse and said this was being fulfilled before their eyes and sat down. He didn’t read the rest of the verse because he knew it would not be fulfilled for 2,000 years.

Isaiah 61:1 The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; V.2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

Luke 4:17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, V.18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, V.19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. V.20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. V.21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Notice after Jesus read "the acceptable year of the Lord," he stopped. But in the writings of Isaiah 61:2 ...and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn, this was not read by Jesus because he knew there was a division of time here and a gap of 2000 years.

So in Genesis 1:2 we now have an earth covered with water and no light because God the Father destroyed all forms of life and took away the light.

When God’s wrath was kindled and his timing was right, God said,
"Let there be light." The sun had already been created in the beginning, but there was a curse from God that would not let the light shine through. God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. The curse was taken away, and the light shone through. God didn’t recreate the light. He created it perfectly in the beginning. He just allowed it to shine again.

Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Genesis 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. V.7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. V.8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

Here God allowed the ozone layer and the oxygen to be replaced so it would sustain life once again. This is the air that separates earth from space, but notice this is the only thing God does not say "is good." Why doesn’t God approve of the air he replaced?

Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.

When God reinstated the air, it was immediately contaminated by Satan and his fallen angels. They had been waiting for God to get over being angry and recreate the earth. When God reformed the air covering, Satan and his forces took it over.

Genesis 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. V.10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

Once again God reestablished the boundaries for the waters to follow. He let the dry land appear. He did not create new land to appear; he created this land in the beginning. This is our beginning, not the earth’s beginning. This land had been inhabited by dinosaurs to make fossil fuel and many other life forms that God created for his pleasure and to get this earth ready to sustain our world today. It was all in God’s plan. When God surveyed the work, once again he approved, and it was good.

Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. V.12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. V.13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

On this day God restored the vegetation on the earth once again.

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: V.15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. V.16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. V.17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, V.18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. V.19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

God regulated the solar system on this day. He did not create the lights at this time. When the scripture says "God made," it is from the Hebrew word "Asah," "made from existing materials." When the word "created" is used, it is from the Hebrew word "Bara" which means "created from nothing" – spoken into existence by God.

"Bara" was used in
Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
God spoke it into existence.

This is also seen in
Exodus 20:11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Made from existing materials ("Asah").

Genesis 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. V.21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. V.22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. V.23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

God has begun to create again. The word "Bara" is once again used with the fish and the birds. This is not contradictory of Exodus 20:11 where Moses uses the word "Asah," made from existing materials, because they are formed from the dust which is existing materials.

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. V.27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. V.31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

The first thing God does after recreating the earth is to set the order of dominance. God put man and woman in charge of the earth. Then he tells them to replenish the earth. This shows that there was an inhabited earth before this creation if they were to replenish the earth.

Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. V.29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. V.30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Sometimes people get confused when reading Genesis 1 and Genesis 2. They think it shows two accounts of different creations. This is not correct. There is only one creation with Genesis 1 giving the Divine purpose of the creation and Genesis 2 giving the Divine act of the creation. Same creation. Genesis 2 simply shows briefly how God did it.

Man was given dominance over the world because God created him in God’s image
(V. 28 "...and have dominion...").
The dominance was held by Lucifer before he tried to topple God, and God threw him to the earth as a lightning bolt, as Jesus spoke of in Luke 10:18.

When Adam an Eve sinned against God in the garden that was restored, once again the dominance was given back to Satan.

Luke 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. V.7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

Jesus did not argue with Satan about the power being delivered to him because he knew that man had lost the dominion.

So let’s recap what we have seen. Lucifer is in charge of the universe under God. He was an extremely intelligent created being that ruled for God. He was absolutely beautiful. The anointed cherub that covereth. He was in the original Garden of Eden in his exalted form with the jewels on his chest as the priest of Moses’ time wore on their chests to symbolize purity. He was on the mountain of God and walked in perfect obedience to God.

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

The earth was created in its perfect state and then, by the fall of Satan, everything was destroyed.

The reason for the destruction was because Satan got the "big head" and tried to overthrow the creator.

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! V.13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: V.14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. V.15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Peter gives us a glimpse of the original earth, before and after the fall.

2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, V.4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. V.5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: V.6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: V.7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

The world that perished was the original earth and not the earth God remade because the word "world" has the Hebrew meaning "of the cosmos," which would be all civilization and things needed to sustain life. As we know the world of Noah’s day was saved by the eight people and animals, even some plants on the ark. So the world of Noah’s day was only partially destroyed but was saved by Noah’s family and the animals.

After the flood of Noah’s day receded, the world got back to its normality. Noah’s sons began having children, and God gave the same command to Noah and his sons as he gave to Adam and Eve at the expulsion from the garden,
"Go and replenish the earth."
Once again God was starting over with mankind, just as He started over with Adam from the original earth that followed Satan. It is not indicated in the Bible that the man creature that followed Satan in the fall were in the image of God. That would account for the ape-looking skeletons scientists try to link to the man of this world period. DNA samples of the skeletons found from the period before Adam show that they were not of the same species as modern man.

These fallen man-creatures are believed by some to be the demons spoken of in scripture. Jesus removed as many as thousands from one man.

Mark 5:9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

These demons have never had any mention in God’s Word about their beginnings. They never were created as demons. If these were fallen angels, then they would have a spiritual body and not want to inhabit a human body. Since they must be the spirits of the fallen man before Satan’s fall, then they long to be in a body, hence, they inhabit human bodies. We never hear in God’s Word of an angel inhabiting a man’s body.

These demon spirits seem to want to stay in the area they are found in and ask not to be removed to a far place. This would be because they are indigenous to the surrounding areas they are inhabiting. This would be the areas they lived in while alive on earth in their earthly bodies.

Mark 5:10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

The demons have a spirit and at one time they had an earthly body, but they were not created with a soul as we are. We have a body, soul, and spirit in the image of God.
When the children of Noah’s sons began to populate, they spread over the land till they came under the influence of a man named Nimrod. He began once again a revolt against God. He became very strong and convinced the people to help make a tower of brick, and it was completed with an astrological chart on the top for worshiping the stars and the horoscope. God came down and condemned the work. He wanted the people to cover the entire world, and the people under Nimrod’s leadership wanted to stay at the site of the tower.

Genesis 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech. V.4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. V.5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. V.6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. V.7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. V.8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. V.9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

When God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit said, "let us go down," they came down to see. It was then that they changed the languages so every man would not know what the other was saying. The languages of the world were born. Another remarkable miracle is that the families of the men knew their language and left with the men.

Let us now look at some real facts about our world and what has transpired over the years after the flood. Scientists teach us that the earth has plates that move on the surface of the earth. It is called platonic movement. There is evidence that the earth at one time was one land mass and the oceans were one ocean that surrounded the single land mass. Animals from different regions on the land mass died and left evidence of their territories by their skeletons. If you just look at a globe of the earth, you can easily see the way the earth was separated into the continents and would fit back together like a picture puzzle. There is no denying that the earth was one mass of land at one time. The only thing the scientists miss is the explanation in God’s Word about the timing of the event. Scientists say that the event took millions of years to slowly move the continents, about one centimeter a year, till they are where they are today. God’s Word says that God did it in one action.

Where did the American Indians come from? Did they walk around the North Pole to see if there was a continent over there to visit? Did they come across on a boat before Columbus did? If they did any of these, then how did they have time to populate such a large mass of land from Canada to Peru with so many people and then create so many different languages amongst themselves? There is not enough time for the people to complete all of these feats and do it from Noah’s time till Colombus’ time. We know they didn’t precede Noah because in most of the Indian cultures there is a reference to a large flood in their ancestral histories. Science can’t explain it totally, so let’s look in God’s Word for the answer.

When God came down and confounded the languages of the people at the tower of Babel, he created every language we have on the earth today. When the people dispersed from the tower and the city and spread over the entire world, the world was still one land mass. The hundreds of languages we have in the North and South American continents were brought here from the tower of Babel, and the people settled here to live in peace with the ones they could understand. God allowed a period of a few hundred years for the dispersement to be completed, and then in one clean sweep, He separated the continents to give us the world we have today.

Genesis 10:25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

One of Noah’s sons, Ham, begat Cush who begat Nimrod that built the tower of Bable. This was two generations after the flood that Nimrod was born. Another son of Noah, Shem, begat a son two years after the flood and he was Arphaxad. After 35 years he begat Salah, and after 30 years he begat Eber. After 34 years Eber begat Peleg. Peleg lived for 239 years. During that lifetime, God’s Word says "for in his days was the earth divided." This shows Peleg living during and after the tower of Babel was stopped with the languages confounded. The people would have had up to hundreds of years to cover the entire world of that day before God separated the continents. The people that wandered away to the lands that became North and South America adapted to their new environment to become, in Colombus’ day, the American Indians.

When the scientists wonder why and how, maybe they should read God’s Word. The answer to every question is in His Word.
